Integrating a business ERP

Founded in 2017 and based in Mulhouse, B-HIVE is an engineering and operational consulting company specializing in the industrial, transport, and construction sectors. To support its rapid growth, B-HIVE needed a tool capable of centralizing and streamlining its operations. It was in this context that its three founders—Emmanuel Ducoup, Yann Heitz, and Maximilien Deloffre—decided to deploy Boond in 2019.

As of 2022, the group had acquired a total of five new companies: Enerjia*, BTM, Altitem, Automatique & Industrie, and Meent. B-HIVE’s vision is clear: to make Boond the central tool for all employees. The goal is to enable all teams to work more effectively together and to align processes across the entire group.

The Enerjia case: a multi-step integration

As Enerjia was already using Boond, the main challenge was to migrate its data and practices into the B-HIVE environment. Since Boond is a customizable solution, it was first necessary to analyze Enerjia’s existing configuration (data formats, process management within the tool) and then adapt it to B-HIVE’s setup before proceeding with data migration. Once this analysis was completed, the next step was to export the data and import it into the B-HIVE interface.

However, given the large volume of data, the migration had to be carried out in stages:

  • Stage 1: CRM migration (contacts, companies, needs, candidates, resources)This phase primarily involved sales teams, HR, and recruiters.
  • Stage 2: production data migration (project management, time, expenses, absences, orders, invoicing) - During this phase, the main challenge was managing duplicate activity. The group wanted to complete a full year in the legacy Enerjia system before fully switching to the new group-wide environment.
  • Stage 3: employee training - Internal teams were trained according to their scope of activity (recruitment, sales, HR, finance, etc.), while consultants were supported in entering their activity data (time, expenses, and absences).

While the full deployment of Enerjia into the B-HIVE Boond environment took one year—particularly due to the support and training of around sixty employees on the group’s new processes—the data migration itself took only… 45 hours.

Enerjia already had the advantage of using the Boond solution, and its former CEO had recommended it to us a few years earlier. For the other entities, we had to carry out a thorough audit of the existing tools to understand their needs and expectations. This step was essential to integrate them into the Boond environment.

This step-by-step deployment really simplified the project: it allowed everyone to first get familiar with Boond’s CRM, and then move on to operational management. If we had to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change anything about how this deployment was organized!

3 to 1 billing day per month for Enerjia

While B-HIVE has seen improved collaboration between teams thanks to a central, unified tool, it has also achieved significant time savings. Before the migration, managing all of Enerjia’s billing took an average of three days per month. After the migration, B-HIVE now spends just one day per month on billing.

The Altitem case: Boond as a central solution, interoperable with third-party tools

Altitem wanted to keep its legacy project management tool, as it was considered better suited to its specific needs. However, the group wanted to integrate Altitem into Boond in order to give them access to the group’s commercial opportunities and shared databases (companies, contacts, candidates).

In this context, the Altitem teams were integrated into and trained on the B-HIVE Boond environment, while continuing to manage their projects in a separate tool thanks to automated data extractions.

The B-HIVE teams highlight one key differentiator: Boond is a business-oriented solution that makes data migration easy. There was no need to involve a technical consultant to prepare the data—Boond’s templates enabled business teams to prepare the import files themselves. This allowed teams to get involved and take ownership of the migration project from the very beginning, without any technical dependency.

With Boond, we always have a choice: the solution is flexible and lets us easily decide what to use—or not—without constraints. Boond naturally becomes the central hub for our core data and also enables us to create many connections with other tools.

The same applies once business teams are trained on the tool: the Boond support team is responsive, and the online help is very comprehensive, giving teams access to all the information they need.
