Who is STEP UP?

STEP UP is an engineering consulting firm specializing in the delivery of complex projects.
Founded in 2014, the company has grown rapidly across France and now operates nine offices located in major French cities.

We work on industrial and IT projects, with more than 200 employees and annual revenue exceeding €15 million.

How did Boond come into the picture?

Our Boond project is fairly recent. We kicked it off in July 2023, followed by a 3–4 month configuration phase, then a pilot test with one of our French offices.
We rolled out Boond across the entire organization on January 1st, 2024.

STEP UP is experiencing strong growth, so it was crucial for us to structure all our processes.
During our market review, BoondManager clearly stood out thanks to its focus on consulting firms and engineering companies.

It’s an ERP that truly fits our needs, particularly because of its project-driven approach, which helps us improve efficiency and productivity across the entire value chain:

  • Recruitment
  • CRM and sales activities
  • Project management
  • Back-office operations such as invoicing and payroll

Was onboarding easy?

The configurable nature of Boond offers real flexibility, while still providing a solid framework.
We wanted to stay within that framework rather than moving toward overly customized solutions.

Onboarding included close support from a BoondCoach—special thanks to Sarah—who guided us through:

  • The configuration phase
  • The pilot testing with one of our offices
  • Training sessions for all internal teams

She continues to support us during the post-go-live phase, and everything went extremely smoothly.

Did STEP UP teams quickly adopt Boond?

Honestly, this was one of my main concerns. Change is never easy to introduce within a company.

But it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise.
STEP UP teams quickly mobilized around the project and immediately saw Boond’s potential—whether in terms of productivity, efficiency, or time savings.

Does Boond help bring your teams together?

Absolutely. Boond has clearly strengthened cohesion across the company.

Before, we were using many disparate tools, each tied to a specific function—HR, sales, back office.
Now, with everyone working in the same system, teams gain better visibility into each other’s work, creating much more coherence across the entire organization.

Do you keep up with new releases every two months?

That’s actually one of Boond’s strengths.

Boond has only been fully live for three months at STEP UP, so our priority was first to ensure operational stability.
Looking back, there were no major issues or bugs, and the transition went very smoothly.

We’re now entering a new phase where we’re going deeper into Boond usage—especially around dashboards and reporting—and we’re very attentive to new features.

We also work closely with Boond by sharing feedback and improvement ideas.
The Boond teams are very receptive, and you can genuinely feel that customer feedback directly influences product evolution, which is extremely important to us.

We’re growing at a double-digit rate, and Boond is fully capable of supporting that growth while helping us structure the organization.

Ultimately, Boond allows us to:

  • Improve productivity
  • Focus on higher-value tasks
  • Reduce time spent on manual, error-prone processes

Before Boond, many workflows were less automated, more time-consuming, and more prone to errors.
Today, processes—especially invoicing and data handling—are far more reliable.

I had the opportunity to speak directly with people I’d already worked with during the implementation—Mathias on the IT side, Gautier on the sales side—and to discover a tight-knit, highly motivated team with a great collective dynamic.
