Can you introduce Cherry Pick?

Cherry Pick is a marketplace designed for the freelance community in consulting and IT. Our goal is to connect freelancers with large enterprises, key accounts, and scale-ups to help them address their business challenges.

Personally, I have been working in the consulting firm ecosystem for six years. Likewise, Cherry Pick’s two founders, Adrien and Stéphane, previously worked for major players in the industry. Cherry Pick was founded five years ago to support the evolution of the market—particularly the rise of freelancing, which accelerated significantly during the health crisis and with the widespread adoption of remote work.

As a hybrid model, we offer two main services:

  • A freelance offering, through our matchmaking platform
  • A headhunting service for our clients, targeting middle and C-level positions

Our communities are made up of experts that we personally qualify and organize around four centers of expertise:

  • Digital transformation
  • Project management
  • Data
  • IT & DevOps

Today, we work with 150 consultants, and our team—based at Station F—is made up of 17 employees, including 10 hired this year. Last year, we reached €6M in revenue, more than double the previous year, and we expect to close 2022 at around €16M. This represents strong hypergrowth.

In 2022, we also joined the Néo-Soft Group, which enables us to address more cross-functional client needs while strengthening our overall offering.

Why did Cherry Pick choose the BoondManager ERP?

When I joined Cherry Pick a year ago, our objectives were clear:

  • Professionalize our existing processes
  • Take a more ROI-driven approach
  • Break down silos between teams to improve cross-functional collaboration
  • Automate certain actions to become even more responsive
  • Centralize data in a single tool to unify teams and improve information sharing

At the time, sales and recruitment teams were managing their activities across multiple, non-centralized tools, while administrative teams were already using BoondManager (for project tracking, time management, invoicing, etc.). The ERP was there, but coordination was not yet fully embedded in the company culture. As a result, information was being lost or kept in silos, and teams were not communicating efficiently.

In my previous company (Listen Too), we were already using BoondManager. I had used it for nearly five years and watched it evolve, with meaningful improvements and an ambitious roadmap that consistently addressed user needs. That said, I didn’t want to be biased, so we conducted a full market benchmark once again.

We were looking for a clear, intuitive, and user-friendly interface that could easily connect with our own platform—the main entry point of our business. After reviewing all available solutions, it became obvious that BoondManager was the most effective choice, provided we finally leveraged its full potential.

Thanks to the API access and detailed documentation, we were able to quickly connect BoondManager with Cherry Pick. Our tools are already communicating seamlessly.

What are your favorite BoondManager features at Cherry Pick?

  • Candidates, Resources, and CRM modules: they truly bring teams together. Once a resource is positioned on a requirement, everything is managed directly within BoondManager.
  • Caller ID on mobile applications: extremely useful and time-saving, especially for cold calling and sourcing.
  • Kanban views: they make adoption easy without changing habits. We previously used Trello and found the same workflows and logic. This helped us consolidate tools while ensuring proper consultant and client follow-up.
  • Reminders and customizable dashboards: very effective for activity tracking and management.
  • LinkedIn plugin: to easily create candidates or CRM profiles.
  • Discussion threads: for effortless internal communication, knowledge sharing, and collaborative work. Teams collaborate more effectively, and skills matching is improved.
  • Integrations with partner apps that significantly extend Boond’s capabilities. For example, OrganizationChart is excellent for creating and sharing effective account mappings. Our sales teams love it—it’s practical, simple, and clean.

Have you seen productivity gains with BoondManager?

Over the past month and a half, we have significantly increased our proficiency with the tool, and we can clearly feel the impact on how we manage and steer the business. We are experiencing strong growth, and BoondManager is already playing a key role in supporting it.

By structuring our processes, BoondManager will inevitably lead to productivity gains.
From a qualitative perspective, it clearly helps us on a daily basis: more autonomy, more fluidity, and more simplicity.
From a quantitative perspective, being able to track everything within a single tool saves a tremendous amount of time—especially for critical processes such as candidate tracking.

We work in a people-centric business. To support individuals in the best possible way, we need tools that allow us to do so with confidence and peace of mind.

How was your onboarding experience?

The configuration phase to fully leverage BoondManager was completely smooth and pleasant. We were also able to easily finance the training. Since BoondManager is Qualiopi-certified, we benefited from one-on-one configuration sessions tailored to our specific needs.

How is your relationship with the Boond teams?

Cyril, our BoondCoach, supported us exceptionally well, and I also worked extensively with Paola, who was incredibly present and supportive. Both are highly responsive. Ticket management is efficient—you can feel that there is a full team behind the scenes handling requests quickly.

Would you recommend BoondManager to peers?

Yes, I have already recommended BoondManager. It is a widely used tool and extremely well positioned for consulting firms. It’s always interesting to discuss BoondManager with former colleagues who have joined new companies and exchange best practices around its usage.

Final thoughts

I absolutely love your public product roadmap. Being able to contribute to the evolution of the software based on our needs—and to see those of other users—is incredibly valuable. It helps us anticipate changes, plan ahead, and benefit from peer feedback within the same industry.

For us, using BoondManager makes far more sense than relying on massive, overly complex software suites that we would never fully leverage, and whose updates or fixes take forever. Boond’s teams are clearly more responsive.

There’s no point in spending a fortune on tools that aren’t designed for our business. I’m a regular reader of your newsletters and release notes, and I’m always eager to discover the new features released every two months—features that directly reflect the needs we’ve shared. That’s concrete, and it truly makes a difference for our users.
